About Blue Ridge Reformed Church

Who We Are

“Blue Ridge Reformed Church” is a group of people gathered to study God's revealed Word in Holy Scripture, sing Psalms & hymns, and participate in Christian fellowship & hospitality. We are self-consciously simple and avoid being driven by programs.  Our children participate in worship with us.

We are currently a satellite campus of Providence Church in Lynchburg, VA. Our hope is to become a mission church within the Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches (“CREC”) denomination under the oversight of Providence Church.

Next Steps

We have been meeting for a Sunday night Bible Study throughout the summer. Our next step will be to begin worship services on Sunday evenings at 6:00 pm.

If the Lord blesses our endeavors with growth, we will become a mission church; our purpose will be “All of Christ, for all of Life.” A local gathering of saints surrendered to the Lord in covenant renewal worship through proclamation of the Word, faithful observance of the sacraments, and prayer; for the glory of God and for the life of the community, engaged in Christian fellowship and evangelism, with a commitment to historic confessional reformed Christianity.

Eventually a Church

The long-term vision will be to become a particularized church within the CREC; under the grace of God, to create a Christian community in the Botetourt/Roanoke area through faithful and robust covenant renewal worship on the Lord’s Day, through proclamation of the gospel to unbelievers, while training additional evangelists who will continue proclaiming that gospel, through teaching men and women how to live together in harmonious Christian marriage, through establishing a family-friendly culture of Christian education in which well-loved and well-disciplined children will learn to stay the course, through outreach that brings people to church, accommodating them where they are while seeking to bring them into maturity in a structured way, through genuine cultural engagement that provides Christian leadership in the arts, in business, in education, in politics, and in literature, and through a regular series of church plants in the larger Roanoke Valley as we have gifted, trained and ordained men, willing congregants, adequate resources, and available facilities. And we seek to do all of this in gladness and simplicity of heart, as we pursue love for God and love for our neighbor. (Adapted from Christ Church, Moscow, Idaho)
